Park La Posada is unique; it is a fully supported residential retirement/semi-retirement park home community near Malaga on the Costa del Sol in Spain.

We are located in Alameda, not far from Mollina. The nearest town is Antequera, and the local airport is Malaga.

  2. A secure gated community with residents having remote-controlled access. 24-hour security is provided.
  3. First-class facilities are provided and maintained for the residents’ exclusive use—there is no need to reserve sun beds by the pool.
  4. Roads with street lighting and pavements (lined with fruit trees) give a feeling of living in a community rather than a park.
  5. Affordable park homes that are very easy to buy. No purchase tax to pay, and you are not obliged to use a lawyer. A SAPA contract between the seller and the buyer is all that is required, arranged by our customer service agents. 
  6. The residents and the park often arrange supported community events to make life interesting. One example is the EuroMillions lottery ticket purchased by the park every Tuesday using a unique system for choosing the numbers. If it wins, 50% of the jackpot will be shared with the residents. The community is less than an hour from Malaga Airport but well away from the usual busy tourist areas with inflated prices. In Alameda, residents are considered locals, not tourists.

Our location in Europe also means residents living in the community can enjoy the same warmer weather but with a lower cost of living. Living in real Spain (as opposed to tourist Spain) with new friends and neighbours is what makes the retirement lifestyle on Posada so unique.

To join the community, you need to have a social level of English. Citizens from countries like the UK, Ireland and Holland have the advantage that English is a first or second language

Choosing Park La Posada

Mobile or park homes within the community are sometimes on sale, with owners offering a “buyer assistance” package provided by our customer service agents Costa Difference

Buyer assistance includes an independent market valuation to confirm the asking price is genuine, a SAPA contract for the legal transfer of ownership, and a secure client account for the initial deposit. The “Buyer Assistance” package is unique to Park La Posada. 

Buying a resale home in the park is currently the only way you can join the community, and as you can appreciate, they do sell quite quickly, thanks to the secure method used for the transfer of ownership.

Homes for sale within the community can range from 25,000 to 75,000 (independently verified if advertised on this site), depending on make, model and age. Paying in GBP or Euros makes no difference, thanks to Wise Bank.

Everyone in the park form their own friendships, and the social events are not geared around couples, they are provided for residents. For UK citizens, Costa Difference provides all the information you need to help you obtain the non-lucrative visa that is now required to become a resident in Spain. You can access that information here.

EU Citizens do not need a visa to become residents. Only a social level of English is required so that the bi-lingual staff in the park can understand and fully support you.

No matter what your nationality is, your new life in Spain can quickly go from a dream to reality with our support and the support of the retirement community as a whole.

Within the park home community, everything is in Euros. Not a problem for UK citizens as a Wise account provides a cost-effective way to keep funds in the UK and exchange what you need to have in Euros in Spain.

With a WISE account, there is no need to have a Spanish bank account. The same debit card works in GBP when in the UK and Euros when in Spain.  You can open a WISE account before coming to Spain.

Early retirement

Park La Posada is perfect for anyone who hopes to retire early. You do not need to be a resident to own a home in the community. Using a home as a base in Spain until you retire has two big advantages.

Firstly you can have everything you need in place for your visit inside your home in Spain. That means you can travel to and from Spain with FREE hand carry only on the plane.

Secondly, and this cannot be overstated, when the time comes to retire, you will already have friends in the community and instantly become part of the full-time community.

Early retirement using Park La Posada

We recommend annual travel insurance for anyone using their homes for semi/retirement personal holidays (immediate family can also), because it is a great alternative to full health care in Spain. Some policies allow 90 days outside the country of residence.

Bi-lingual support

With English as the common language inside the park, the reception staff can look after and support residents/owners of all nationalities. Posada residents can also access the T4M telephone translation service with FREE membership when they register for the service on our website.

To experience life in real Spain, all you need to do is venture outside the community. There is nothing more Spanish than the 18th Century Hotel Posada el Tempranillo situated right next to Park La Posada.

The local village of Alameda is also as Spanish as they come as well. It is where the locals and residents practice their “Spanglish” in the shops, bars and restaurants.

La Posada park opened in 2004 as a UK style mobile home park. In 2008 it transformed into an exclusive 5* style open all year UK/EU retirement/semi-retirement community. New custom-built park homes started arriving. 

Following the transformation, we decided to use the Costa Difference team as our customer service agents to deal with all enquiries and park visits because they specialise in representing residential communities.

All about the lifestyle

The community itself is in the village of Alameda, and the nearest town is Antequera. The nearest airport is Malaga on the Costa del Sol for people flying in to visit.

Antequera, is known as the crossroads of Andalucia. It has motorway access to the beaches of Malaga and the cities of Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba.

We also have the lakes of Ardales and Iznajar reasonably close for recreation. Residents love taking their visitors to the lakes for the day to show why they love living here so much.

If you are planning to visit the area, we recommend staying in the town of Antequera for a few days. Right now, the Hotel Coso Viejo seems to be perfect as a base. Reasonably priced and in the heart of Antequera, the nearest big town; check out availability.

Costa Difference will give full directions from the hotel you are staying at in Antequera to the park. They will also give you the contact details of the resident who will meet you and show you around.

This is required because turning up without an appointment is not possible. 

You can also rent a car from Malaga airport if needed as quite often there are some great deals out of season with hire. The journey from the airport is very straightforward.

As you would expect, renting out homes to holidaymakers or sub-letting long term is not allowed in the park, which means all our residents enjoy a relaxed way of life with their friends and neighbours.

For new residents, we do all the standard paperwork, including “Residencia”, “Padron”, “NIE”, and doctors as part of the buyer assistance package. This has to be done within the first six months park contract period following completion of the SAPA agreement.

The translation service is only provided free to you when buying a home with “buyer assistance” overseen by our park agent. You only pay the NIE registration tax on the day plus any special services you require beyond the standard registration process, such as legal translations.

With the support we offer our residents, it is easy for anyone to live in Spain not speaking Spanish. The residents also support each other. That aspect of community life cannot be measured. Only the residents themselves know how invaluable it is having the right support all the time.

Retirement community lifestyle

English and EU TV channels are available via a connection to the Internet, each home has a wired connection, with free wifi zones within the park as well. 

Living in Park La Posada also means you are not alone. With 150 mobile/park homes in the park, a settled community enjoys life to the full. For the most part, it is the park community that, in fact, makes retiring to Spain so easy.

Exclusive facilities include a swimming pool and a four-lane outdoor bowls green. We also have an open-air gym, a pool bar/ leisure complex, plus 24- hour security.  

The mobile home residents have formed their own bowls club making full use of the bowls green. For the golfers, there is a wonderful golf course in the local town of Antequera.   The Posada Bowls Club website will have all the information with regards to the bowls club.

Community fees are 375 Euros a month to cover 24 hour security, resident support, maintenance of the park, exclusive facilities and improving existing services and facilities. Utilities are metered and the utility companies are dealt with by the reception on your behalf. 

The park also allows family pets subject to certain rules. These include the number of pets and the breed. Dog walkers especially benefit thanks to some wonderful walks around the park, plus an umbrella is hardly ever needed.
